1. Understand your learning style
Following the words of Tom Whitby, other experts support largely avoid using a single formula for all. Understand your learning style will help you stop beating your head against the wall in frustration. Figure out what works for you can light the lamp on top of your head and make learning easier and fun process.
Julia Sharman, Consultant and Advisor Education, defends the act of encouraging students to find out their learning style and apply it to the kind of notes they take. For example, a kinesthetic learner probably prefer to use diagrams, graphs or scribbling with a variety of colors.

2. The question “Why are you taking notes?”
Questioning the purpose of taking notes will help you process the information better. Terry Heick, former professor of English and director of one of the largest educational blogs “Teach Thought” explains why encouraged his students to appreciate the importance of taking notes. “What I tried to convey more than anything else, was the point of taking notes – understand what and why you are documenting in each individual circumstance. This can tell you what and how are registering, instead of falling into “strategies” and “technical” useless.

The more you get involved in the process of taking notes, most will understand the valuable information that you should memorize. Take a step further by connecting their study the course of the program. This will help you understand where each topic fits into the overall picture.
It should also include the sources in the construction of your notes, as this helps you to find out more about this particular area. 5. Use technology as an advantage

6. Review your notes regularly
Do we need to say that the process does not end with the construction of a set of beautiful study notes? Create your own notes is a good start, but to learn the information, you need to go back and review the material several times, as suggested by Mike Karlin, teacher and education blogger in the United States. Set an alert to review your notes on weekly or monthly to spark new ideas and find inspiration.

7. Include visual aids as Mind Maps
Taking notes is more than text. Use visual aids such as charts, diagrams, photographs and mind maps can help you understand information easily and remember bits and challenges when needed. James Shackley, Learning Technologies Manager at Millbrook Academy, recommends using Mind Maps as a good way to store the important facts in one place.

8. See the view of his colleagues
Many education programs encourage collaborative work because it is a way to learn from others. Christopher Neso, professor and integrator of technology has given us an important advice: “your grades are not set in stone, they can be changed at any time.”
One way to add depth to your knowledge is talking to his colleagues and asking them what they feel is important. Perhaps it may happen to be completely different from what you thought important. This can lead to further discussion on the subject to be studied, improving learning.
9. Never write notes without thinking

For example, James Shackley, says his students find it too difficult to copy a large amount of information. These strategies present to take notes or the use of Mind Maps, as already discussed, should help you unravel this problem. Remember that your notes should be made in thoughtful work for you, then this is not the case, think of ways to change your current technique.
Bonus : Join a significant activity
Of course I agree that not all study taking notes is the best way to study. Lisa Nielson, an innovative educator and Director of Digital Literacy, believes that taking notes is exceeded. “Students should get all the notes and materials at the beginning of the lesson. This allows them to think faster and better understand what they are learning, rather than just copying what they are hearing. ” Lisa believes that teachers should give their students all the materials in advance so that they are not focused on writing and worry to absorb content. When they know that the teacher will share the material with them, they feel free to engage in the learning process more actively.
Lisa shared an example of significant activity with us about our discussion, in which children used Twitter as a means of work and learned more than they would taking notes in class. This kind of work is more powerful than what many schools are doing.
